Dakahlia prosecution prolonged on the detention of 14 MB detainees in Mit Ghamr for 15 days after a Mit Ghamr policemen claimed that the supporters of the MB candidate Dr. Khaled Al Dib assaulted him during an election rally.
Dakahlia prosecution prolonged on Wednesday June, 20th, 2007 , the detention of 14 Muslim Brotherhood detainees in Mit Ghamr for 15 days pending trial. They were detained after a policemen in Mit Ghamr claimed that the supporters of the MB candidate Dr. Khaled Al Dib assaulted him during an election rally. Eyewitnesses said at that time that a number of Mit Ghamr policemen, supported by bullies, stormed into the election rally of the Muslim Brotherhood candidate for the Shura elections, Dr. Khaled Al Dib, and they assaulted what they managed to reach, injuring dozens of MB supporters and arresting more than 10 individuals. They raised their eyebrows when the police claimed that they (the detainees) are the attackers. The detainees whose detention is prolonged are: Fathi Abdul Hamid Al Laithi - an employee at Tanta University Atiya Saleh Atiya - an employee at the Education Department Sheikh Mohamed Rizk Mohamed - an imam and preacher Khaled Fouad Mohamed Ahmed, belongs to the national democratic party but was detained while passing by the rally Haitham Ahmed Abdul Aziz Khattab- a plumber Abdul Khalek Galaluddin Madbouli - a merchant Mohamed Al Baz Mohamed - an imam and preacher Mohamed Mahmoud Metwalli- a worker Sayed Ahmed Abdul Fattah - an engineer Abdul Aziz Hegazi- an engineer Sayed Mohamed Ibrahim - telephone exchange owner Mohamed Hosni Mohamed Nassar - an employee at Ghazl Company In a related context, three other individuals appeared on Thursday June, 21, 2007 before the same prosecution. They were detained in a sweep that included more than 90 MB members and supporters in Dakahlia during the Shura Council elections. The three detainees are: Mossad Rizk Al-Sayed Mohamed Ahmed Shalabi, from city of Talkha Ahmed Ali Mohamed from village of Al-Roda, district of Talkha. |
