State Security agents, supported by police elements, arbitrarily executed dawn raids on the houses of two Muslim Brotherhood members in Monoufiya Governorate, northern Cairo.
The arrested MBs are: 1. Dhia" Ibrahim Eliwa: accountant in a computer hardware company. 2. Tamer Hamid Shousha: English schoolteacher. The MB members were led to the Monoufiya-based State Security headquarters, after placing everything in their houses upside down. The raid comes after a severe cleansing raid targeted bookshops and printing offices in the same district. In a related context, analysts consider these crackdowns as signs of pressure against the Muslim Brotherhood before the anticipated municipal elections. Note-worthy, the group did not yet decide its participation. |
