Egyptian State Security forces arrested on Tuesday 14 Muslim Brothers from the Nile Delta governorate of Al Monofeyya at dawn in the second day of Ramadan, MB reporters said.

The arrested MBs include Fathi Shehab Addeen (an engineer-Monouf), Dr. Ahmed Al-Khayyat (a Pharmacist - Monouf), Dr. Faraj Mabrouk (a veterinarian ), Ahmed Ezz Eddin, Mohamed Al-Seysy, Fathi Al-Serwy, Wajih Al-Zanaty, Mohamed Abu Al-Saoud.

Houses of six Muslim Brothers in the same area were stormed by security forces, but none of them were present at the time. They are Ibrahim Shuaib, Wajih Al-jondi , Ahmed Azab, Ahmed Rajaeey, Mahmoud Al-Menoufi, and Sameh Mabrouk.

This came as part of a state security escalation against the Muslim Brotherhood across Egypt ahead of the holy month of Ramadan and up till now.

Muslim Brotherhood Chairman Mohamed Habib condemned in a press release the escalation and said it aims at targeting Muslim Brotherhood activities in the holy month, which witnesses massive services and charity campaigns by MB members and parliamentarians across the country.
