Dr. Ibrahim Al Zaafarani, chairman of the relief committee, in the Arab Doctors" Union , called for releasing the relief aid that Egyptian authorities seized in Egyptian cities of Al-Arish and Rafah.

Egyptian authorities seize the food aid under allegation that that these are state subsidized commodities allocated for the Egyptian public smuggled to Palestine through tunnels. Al Zaafarani confirmed that this relief aid is donated by Egyptian poor families that can do nothing but share the Palestinian people their food. He added that papers about this were sent to Egyptian authorities.

Dr. Ibrahim Al Zaafarani said that there are tragic conditions in Gaza while Egyptian forces put many obstacles in front of allowing aid into Gaza . "The forces open the crossing only to critically ill conditions", he added.
 
Al Zaafarani said that the Doctors Union prepares Egyptian doctors in rare specializations demanded by Palestinian hospitals. When they cross the Rafah crossing, these doctors will move to Gaza to train Palestinian doctors on how to handles critical conditions. After that, the relief committee will give them the Arab Medical Fellowship Certificate to be able to work in these rare specializations without any legal accountability.

For his part, Dr. Hamdi Al Sayed the chairman of Egyptian Doctors" Union sent a message to North Sinai attorney general in which he demanded him release the food aid seized by Egyptian authorities and allow it into Gaza .
