The re-arrests of distinguished and highly ranked Muslim Brotherhood leaders exemplify the all too frequent defiance by the security forces of court orders for the release of citizens. For the 5th consecutive time the Cairo Criminal Court has ordered for the release of Dr Ossama Nasr and 11 other group members and for the 5th consecutive time the order was ignored.

The brotherhood's lawyers stood in defense and won numerous release orders for the plaintiffs however the State preferred to take the law in their own hands and defy the judiciary by re-arresting the detainees.

The Ministry of Interior decided to order their re-arrests after detainees spent a week in state security headquarters. The detainees who were re-arrested include:

Dr Ossama Nasr el-Deen

Dr Hossam Abu Bakr

Dr Ibrahim Mustafa

Dr Hesham Sakr

Ashraf Abdul Samie

Dr Mohamed Saad Elewa

Ali Abdul Fattah

Dr Essam Alhaddad

Mohamed Algharabawy

Mohamed Albara

Husseiny Mohamed Alshamy

Waleed Shalaby
