Families of 33 Muslim Brotherhood detainees in Suez faced harassment by state security forces earlier today. Forces clashed with those who were waiting in the courtroom to visit with their detained family member. The forces banned them from meeting and visiting in addition to refusing the delivery of food and belongings to the detainees. Conflicts increased from verbal clashes to bodily contact while families waited for the verdicts to be reached.

Defense lawyer for the MB Bahaa Salama asserted in a statement to Ikhwanonline that families were angered by the measures practiced by the forces. Tension escalated when Prosecutors cut the hearing session short issuing a 45 day extension period without listening to the lawyers defense while detainees refused to board transfer vehicles before hearing the order. These defiances forced the head of the courtroom to order all family members out of the courtroom
