Akef: The Brotherhoods adherence and promoting of democracy and Shura should be an example to all.
Muslim Brotherhood Chairman Mr Mohamed Mahdi Akef announced that his last weekly statement as the Brotherhood's 7th Chairman will be delivered in a world-wide press conference scheduled to be held Thursday January 14, 2010.

 Muslim Brotherhood Chairman Mr Mohamed Mahdi Akef announced that his last weekly statement as the Brotherhood's 7th Chairman will be delivered in a world-wide press conference scheduled to be held Thursday January 14, 2010.

 

In an exclusive statement to "Ikhwanweb" the chairman asserted that the name of the new chairman for the movement who was elected under a supervised committee will be announced. The new chairman will also take the oath and members of the Movement are expected to offer their loyalty and support for the sake of the movement's continuity.

 

Akef assessed that "The Movement despite hardships faced recently has been and will continue to be a fine example to the world and to the ruling regimes of democracy, unity and reciprocated respect. The Brotherhood has been targeted by numerous bodies including the ruling regime, social security harassments and various media outlets however we have withheld proving that unity and faith will conquer all". He commended the Movement's respect of following regulations and believed that through this "anything can and will be accomplished".

 

During the press conference a large number of distinguished and highly ranking members of the Muslim Brotherhood Movement will be present in addition to the entire Shura Committee and Executive Guidance Bureau.

questioning the legemitacy and lawfulness of the election of the MB leader Prof. Mohamed M.H. El-Defrawy
The First deputy of the MB Chairman, Prof.Dr. Mohamed Habib protested about the disputes that have surrounded the date, procedures and mechanism of the elections and appealed to submit this matter to a judicial committee. Dr. Ibrahim El-Zaafarany (member of the shura (consultation) and democracy and at the mean time a member of the committee that supervised the election steps showed the same protest and forwarded his objection and protest to the MB leader questioning the legemitacy and lawfulness of the election of the MB leader. In short the election are rejected and should be passed to a judicial committee to tell its final say about the validity, the legemitacy and lawfulness of such elections.
