New subsidence in Jerusalem as a result of IOA digging
New subsidence in Jerusalem as a result of IOA digging
The Aqsa foundation for endowment and heritage (AFEH) has warned of a series of land collapse in the Silwan suburb of occupied Jerusalem south of the Aqsa Mosque as a result of the ceaseless digging by the Israeli occupation authority (IOA).

AFEH said in a statement on Monday that a one square metre subsidence was detected, noting that it was one to three meters in depth while other cracks were seen nearby over a four-meter area.

It said that land caved in north of Ein Silwan mosque, warning that the entire neighborhood of Silwan was in extreme danger "or rather in the heart of danger" due to the increasing IOA excavations.

Two members of the committee for the defense of Silwan lands confirmed that the collapse might widen any time.

Two years ago AFEH discovered a tunnel being dug by the IOA near Ein Silwan mosque.
