On 23 March 2010, Alkarama formally launched its annual report 2009 as part of the Human Rights Council's 13th session held at the Palais des Nations, Geneva. The report highlighted the Alkarama's main activities during 2009, in particular with regards to its work with the United Nations Human Rights special procedures, and other international and regional bodies.

The seminar was attended by various representatives of civil society organisations, human rights activists from the Arab world, and journalists, as well as dignitaries from Arab governments.

During the seminar, Alkarama gave a brief account of the content of the report, in both Arabic and English, which was then followed by a discussion on the overall themes of human rights in the Arab world with the participation of the audience.
