Historical overruling of MB chairman's travel ban

MB defense lawyer Abdel Moneim Abdel Maqsoud has described the lift of the Interior Ministry's travel ban for Dr Mohamed Badie the MB chairman as "historic".

Prosecutors in Cairo's Administrative Court had overruled the ruling which had barred Badie from travelling abroad.

The Chairman was slammed with the travel ban just days after the announcement of his becoming the 8th Chairman for the group. Dr Badie had also been previously banned in 2008 from travelling where he was barred from going to perform pilgrimage to Mecca.

In a statement to Masry Al-youm the chairman's lawyer Gamal Tag El-Din stated "I wish the government would obey court orders so as to assert the independence of the judiciary."
