Israeli companies are dumping their chemical waste in the West Bank instead of moving them to the Negev where a special location was allocated for chemical refuse because of its high cost, a Hebrew daily revealed.

Daily Ma'ariv reported that the Israeli companies preferred to dump their waste in the West Bank because of cheaper transport prices and simple measures.

It noted that the issue had surfaced when Jewish settlers near Nilin village, where a waste dump is located, protested.

The paper said that the West Bank has turned into an unofficial waste dump for Israel, noting that inhabitants of the village were the most affected from the waste chemicals and their emanation
