Three Palestinians were wounded by Israeli gunfire Tuesday evening during an attack carried out by Israeli troops and armed settlers on a march organized in Beit Ommar town, north of the West Bank city of Al-Khalil. Medical sources said that three Palestinian citizens sustained injuries in different parts of their bodies as a result of being hit with rubber-coated metal bullets fired by Israeli troops. The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) also waged at dawn Wednesday a campaign of raids on homes in different West Bank areas that led to the kidnapping of eight Palestinian citizens. Palestinian local sources said that the campaign took place in the districts of Ramallah, Al-Khalil and Jenin interspersed with ransacking homes and forcing residents out. On Tuesday, the IOF troops stormed the house of prisoner Ayed Dudeen from Dura town in Al-Khalil simultaneously with the Israeli court decision to extend his administrative detention for the eighth consecutive time. Director of Ahrar center for prisoners’ studies Fouad Al-Khafsh said that a large number of IOF troops broke into and ransacked the house of Dudeen in the absence of his family. Khafsh noted that Dudeen, the deputy director of ambulance and emergency unit in Al-Khalil and a father of six children, has spent 13 years in detention. He spent the last three years in administrative custody without trial or charge. In separate incidents on Tuesday, the IOF troops stormed in the morning a restaurant on the street of Al-Mahd in Bethlehem before rounding up a young man working there called Shadi Al-Herimi. The IOF troops also invaded Bil’in village in Ramallah and Shawawra village, east of Bethlehem, and handed citizens summonses from the Israeli intelligence. Another group of Israeli settlers escorted by Israeli troops at noon Tuesday stormed Khirbat Al-Hammam area, located five kilometers to the east of Nazlla village in Tulkarem, at the pretext of visiting archeological sites. Israeli troops stormed as well the villages of Obeidiya, Beit Sahour and Za’tara without any reported arrests. They also established a checkpoint in the area of Hilwa at the entrance to Beit Sahour and searched passing cars. In another incident, Israeli bulldozers escorted by policemen invaded the village of Taweel Abu Jeroal in the Negev region and tore down all tents which the residents established in the area. The bulldozers then headed to the village of Al-Araqeeb and demolished the homes which the villagers rebuilt and also flattened homes and tents belonging to Attalalqa clan north of the Negev area. |
