Kuwait tabled a complaint at the UN on behalf of the Arab countries on Friday against the Israeli occupation authority's (IOA) desecration of Mamunallah cemetery in occupied Jerusalem.

The Kuwaiti ambassador to the UN, Mansour Al-Otaibi, demanded urgent action regarding this step, warning that the incident might heighten tensions and religious sensitivities in the region.

The ambassador sent similar messages to the UN Secretary General, the current chairman of the UN Security Council, and the current chairman of the UN General Assembly to draw their attention to this issue, which he described as "serious" and of utmost concern to the Arab Group.

Otaibi urged the world community to condemn the desecration and to exert utmost effort possible to force Israel to suspend its "illegitimate and provocative" acts in this regard.
