Mada: IOA violates freedom of the press
The Palestinian center for development and media freedoms (Mada) monitored 69 press violations on the part of the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) and the Ramallah authority over the first four months of 2010.

GAZA, -- The Palestinian center for development and media freedoms (Mada) monitored 69 press violations on the part of the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) and the Ramallah authority over the first four months of 2010. Mada said in a report on Sunday that the IOA violated press freedoms on 57 occasions while the PA in Ramallah committed the remaining 12 violations. It noted that the number is a serious indicator of the violations of media freedoms in the occupied Palestinian lands, noting that the violations in the same period last year were 62 while in 2008 the number was 90. The center asked the world community to exercise real and effective pressures on the IOA to halt its continued violations against journalists and freedom of expression. |
