MB MP summons Interior Minister

MP Saad Al-Husseini, from the Muslim Brotherhood parliamentary bloc called for the summoning of the Interior Minister to discuss measures practiced by security forces against Shura candidates and their supporters

The MP slammed the detentions and arrests which have taken place in numerous constituencies as MB nominees engage in campaigning. Husseiny described the arrests as violations to the Egyptian constituency and abuse of power where forces unjustly apply the renewed 'emergency law' to the wrong people

 

He criticized the arrest of some of the security of citizens in Kafr El-Sheikh from the streets merely for expressing their views and supporting a candidate in the elections, and wondered if this was the democratically held elections.

 

Husseiny opposed the arrests in particular of citizens in Kafr el Sheik who supported the MB candidate claiming that democracy once again fails to set in as elections approach.
