Security Forces assault protesting Amonisto employees
Egyptian Security Forces attacked Amonisto Company employees Sunday May 23, while they were protesting in front of Parliament. Tens were injured and more than 20 workers arrested. Journalists were also attacked

Workers were originally protesting in front of the Shura Council and worked their way to protest in front of the Parliament building. They attempted to continue towards the Bank of Egypt; however Security Forces prevented them forcing the rally to its starting point of the protest. One hundred and fifty protestors nevertheless, were able to reach the Bank of Egypt and protest on there financial crisis. Those arrested were sent to Alsayeda Zainab Police Station and were later brought before Prosecution Aisha Abdel Hady, Minister of Manpower, and the Committee of Manpower in Parliament, met with a delegation of workers to discuss the financial crisis and the agreements made between the Ministry and the Bank of Egypt |
