Sources participating in the Freedom Flotilla aid convoy stated that father Hilarion Capucci, the former archbishop of Jerusalem, joined the convoy sailing for the besieged Gaza Strip.

The sources said that father Capucci arrived in the Turkish city of Antalya on Sunday to join hundreds of participants in the convoy.

For his part, deputy head of the international committee for breaking the siege Mohamed Sawalha said that the participation of father Capucci has a symbolic importance for he is one of the most prominent Palestinian national figures who stood in the face of the Israeli occupation.

More than 30 years ago, the Israeli occupation exiled father Capucci from Palestine because of his honorable national stands.

In a related context, the European campaign to end the siege said that the Greek-Swedish cargo ships will start Monday afternoon to move from the port of Athens to Cyprus to join the Freedom Flotilla convoy.

Spokesman for the campaign Rami Abdo added that four other ships will also move on the same day from the Greek ports of Athens and Crete to Cyprus.

The spokesman noted that the Greek-Swedish cargo ship is carrying humanitarian aid worth 2.5 million dollars and it is expected to reach along with the other ships to Gaza on Friday.

The Flotilla Ike
I'm sure you are not going to post this because of my comments. This flottila is nothing more than a rabid anti-Israel charade. The gazans live better than the poor people in Darfur, the oppressed people in Sudan and probably better than 75% of Iranians and North Koreans. The flottila's members care absolutely zilch for the wellbeing of the truely oppressed. This is a farce...and the ships will never get close.

One of the flotilla passengers is the former Melkite Greek archbishop of Jerusalem, Father Hilarion Capucci, who was previously arrested for using his church car service to smuggle explosives, firearms and katyusha rockets into Israel for the PLO. Capucci was freed after an appeal from the Vatican. This guy is a Christian fraud. Matthew 23:9
