President Mubarak sets November 28 for parliamentary elections
According to official sources, the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has set Sunday November 28 for the country’s parliamentary elections. Run-offs are scheduled for December 5.

According to official sources, the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has set Sunday November 28 for the country’s parliamentary elections. Run-offs are scheduled for December 5.
Despite calls for boycotting elections by former IAEA Chairman Dr. Mohamed ElBaradei, and unjustified arbitrary arrests the Muslim Brotherhood has confirmed it will contest 30% of the 508 seats free for elections. Since the group chairman’s Dr. Mohamed Badie’s confirmation on October 9, and the announcing of nominees names in various constituencies security apparatus has up-scaled its aggression and oppression against the MB detaining over 150 members. Over 88 establishments and businesses owned by MB members have also been closed down. |
