DUBAI,- Dubai police chief Dahi Khalfan denied Israeli news reports claiming he met with an Israeli security official during a meeting of the general assembly of Interpol that was held recently in Qatar.

Khalfan told France Press that he did not attend this conference at all.

Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper published fabricated lies saying that head of the Israeli police investigation unit Yoav Segalovich met by chance Khalfan during this conference and shook hands with him.

"They were introduced, they shook hands and greeted each other," an Israeli police official told the newspaper, adding that the meeting was pleasant despite rising tensions between the Arab Emirate and Israel.

In late September, the Dubai police chief reported he received threats from the Mossad after the assassination of Hamas official Mahmoud Al-Mabhouh at a hotel.
