Muslim Brotherhood (MB) candidates have won 42% of a poll on Masrawy.com on the question “Who will you vote for in the upcoming Parliamentary elections?”

Four options were given: the National Democratic Party (NDP), the Muslim Brotherhood, opposition parties, and independent candidates.

22,218 people voted, and the MB obtained 42% of the votes, independents 28%, the opposition obtained 14 % and the NDP only received 16% of the votes.

Mofid Shehab, minister and candidate of the NDP, sunning for Moharam Bek constituency in Alexandria, stressed in a press conference that the 88 seats which the MB won during the last parliamentary elections “are a mistake and will not be repeated” and does not reflect the real popularity of the MB in Egyptian streets. He attributed the MB’s winning of 88 seats to the fact that people hate the government and the NDP and the lack of patrician competition during the past elections.

Shehab added: “Resisting the goals of the MB is a national duty on all citizens.”
