Despite widespread violence and claims of rigging, preliminary reports have indicated that the ruling National Democratic Party have won the elections in a landslide victory.

Although the outcome was premeditated in favour of the ruling regime’s NDP the party’s officials praised the elections and denied reports that up to 9 people were killed during voting,
State coverage downplayed claims of fraud, arrests and violence however reports and whatever media coverage was able to film the events choose to differ.

In evident rigging the Muslim Brotherhood did not win a single seat outright,  however 27 candidates are set to compete in December 5's runoff elections. The group’s chairman Dr. Mohamed Badie thanked the public for their support stressing that they may have not won the struggle to parliament but they succeeded in exposing the regime’s violations during the elections and it’s rigging of the people’s will.

In 2005 the Brotherhood’s win of 88 seats was not taken lightly and although authorities had vowed there would beintegrity the early clampdown on the group since early October revealed otherwise.
