Dr. Yousef Al-Qaradawi, president of the World Federation of Muslim Scientists, stressed that he does not wish that the new government in Tunisia is formed by Al-Ghannouchi, the prime Minister in the former regime which Al-Qaradawi described as a catastrophic era..

Al-Qaradawi wondered how a prime minister from the former government could be asked to form a new interim government. He called for the formation of a new interim government that does not include any members of the former ruling system.  He stressed on the importance of returning all those who had been abroad and the release of all prisoners of conscience.

Al-Qaradawi congratulated the Tunisians on the fall of the dictator on Al-Jazeera TV channel saying: “I congratulate the Tunisian people on the fall of the dictator and the big idol as well as the other idols and call on them to bring down all the remnants of the former regime.”
