Media spokesman for the Muslim Brotherhood Dr. Essam el-Erian has stated that the group remains undecided concerning the upcoming demonstration scheduled by the country's political opposition for January 25, adding that the MB is yet to announce its stance on the scheduled protest. El-Erian highlighted that the group is currently engaged in internal discussions and will announce their decision shortly. In a statement to Ikhwanweb El-Erian noted that the decision has nothing to do with the group's patriotism and that any participation by the group will be based on the principle of unity since the group makes a conscious effort to work for Egypt's wellbeing. He also confirmed that the decision will be publicly announced. El-Erian maintained that the group will, however, participate in a vigil planned for Tuesday with other political factions in addition to members of the formed People's Parliament which includes 15 former MB MPs. |
