Youths call for unified entity to represent People of the Revolution
A press conference was held Thursday by a group of independent and politically affiliated youths who took part in Egypt's 25 January revolution at the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate announcing the launch of the "Union of the Youth Revolution" in an effort to establish a common position.

A press conference was held Thursday by a group of independent and politically affiliated youths who took part in Egypt's 25 January revolution at the Egyptian Journalists Syndicate announcing the launch of the "Union of the Youth Revolution" in an effort to establish a common position. In a statement group members announced their demands delivering them at the press conference. The annulling of Egypt's 30 year Emergency Law. The dissolution of the State Security apparatus. The dissolution of State Security courts. The dissolution of the ruling National Democratic Party and the prosecution of its leaders. The dismissal of the current Ahmed Shafiq government. The immediate release of all political detainees. The setting of a fixed date no longer than six months to run transparent presidential and parliamentary elections. |
