A court order in Egypt’s north city of Alexandria ordered the re-arrest of the police officers who were accused of killing demonstrators during Egypt’s 25 January revolution.

A court order in Egypt’s north city of Alexandria ordered the re-arrest of the police officers who were accused of killing demonstrators during Egypt’s 25 January revolution following the angry protests by families of the victims when the accused officers were released earlier this week

The 3 officers are to be detained for a further 15 days according to the court ruling.

Officer Wael Komy was accused of killing 37 protesters, and Motaz Askalany and Mohamed Safaan, were  accused of killing tens during the People’s January 25 Revolution.

The officers were also responsible in attacks on protestors which resulted in the injury of many more during the events that unfolded after 25 January.
