The Muslim Brotherhood’s administrative offices are engaged in local meetings to select candidates for the country’s upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled to take place in September. Numerous meetings are scheduled to discuss coordination with other political forces and youth groups in an effort to write up joint lists for candidates. According to MB leader Mohsen Rady the group is keeping in mind the demands of the revolutionaries. He added that the administrative offices are now concerned with the achievement of the initiative put forward by Dr. Mohammed Badie the group’s chairman. Dr. Amir Bassam, also a leader maintained that the group is currently exploring various areas for the selection of candidates. He asserted that the group whose priorities will be political reform, guaranteeing public and political freedoms, social justice and restoring Egypt's regional influence, will limit its number of candidates, fielding for not more than 35% of the available number of seats. |
