Egypt's new system of government will limit the president's powers and create a strong, active parliament this statement and more was given by Deputy Prime Minister Yehia al-Gamal.

According to Gamal there is a strong likelihood that Egypt will transform into a parliamentary rather than a presidential system during the upcoming elections.

Gamal also stated that economic reforms would be implemented to create a free market economy; he added that the state will actively impose social equality between all sects of the community.

During a press conference Gamal told media outlets that local councils would be dismantled asserting studies are currently underway to ensure pay equality for civil servants.
