A conference has been organized highlighting the lessons learned from Egypt’s nonviolent revolution which succeeded in toppling former president Mubarak and his corrupt regime.

Cairo University will hold a conference highlighting the lessons learned from Egypt’s nonviolent revolution which succeeded in toppling former president Mubarak and his corrupt regime.

Scheduled to run for two days from June 6-7, 2011, the symposium will discuss numerous topics including, the organization and formation of movements before and after the revolution, the revolution's nonviolent methods, the revolution and responding to state pressures, revolution across the country, resistance beyond Cairo, other cities and rural areas, post-revolution and transition, Egyptian revolution and Arab popular revolts, a comparative perspective.

A distinguished host of speakers and experts will be attending the symposium which will be held at the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University. The conference is expected to commence at 10 am.
