The Muslim Brotherhood accused the National Security Apparatus in Port Said of cracking down on its charity projects during the holy month of Ramadan using the same measures as that of the former regime's State Security Apparatus.

The MB said in a statement that banners supporting the famine victims in Somalia have been removed and ripped, and Imams have been summoned and ordered to restrict MB’s activities in the mosques during Ramadan.

MB leader in Port Said Galal Abdul Samee stated that such restrictions are unacceptable as they signal a step back to the era before the revolution. He called on the Interior Minister Mansour Al-Essawy and Chief of Security in Port Said Sammy Al-Rouby to investigate the issue, adding that such actions and interference by the former regime’s remnants will have a negative result and will obstruct the process of democracy and development in Egypt.
