The Muslim Brotherhood (MB) explained that its position regarding Friday protests (called for by some political groups and coalitions) is that the Brotherhood is with the calming down of the situation and with having a faster democratic transition which is the only way to transfer power from the Supreme Council of Armed Forces (SCAF) to the civilians and ensure the stability of the country.

As for the early presidential elections called for by some politicians, the Brotherhood stated that it is with shortening the transitional period as much as possible and transferring the power from the SCAF after evaluating its performance, but this step should take place after the formation of constitutional institutions.

The Brotherhood also said that the procedures should be executed according to the referendum to respect the will of the people, and if these conditions were met in any proposal then the Brotherhood would accept it.
