The first phase of the Egyptian Lawyers Syndicate subdivision elections witnessed a large turnout in 9 branches across eight governorates namely: North and South Cairo, Giza, Port Said, Ismailia, Suez, Qaliubiya, Fayoum, Minya, supervised by Administrative Prosecution judges.

Fathi Tamim, Vice Chairman of the Lawyer Syndicate's Islamic Sharia Committee said that the elections ran smoothly with no record of any problems during the first phase.

Osama El-Helw, Islamic Sharia Committee rapporteur and board member of the General Council of the Bar, pointed out that the preliminary results for candidates are still to be announced in the governorates where elections were held.

The general elections for the Egyptian Lawyers Syndicate were held recently, and resulted in a sweeping victory in favor of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Islamic Sharia Committee, which is a coalition of Brotherhood lawyers and allied colleagues.
