In a telephone call to Nile News TV Channel, Dr. Farid Ismail, member of the National Committee of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) and member of the Constituent Assembly, said: "Egypt is in dire need for unity, national harmony and an inclusive dialogue, in order to protect the homeland and its people. Consensus is the way out of the current crisis. Everyone must use restraint and reason. Opponents must also respect the opinions of one another".

"All the Egyptian people must uphold the interests of the country above their personal interests. They must respect democracy and protect legitimacy.

"We cancelled our planned demonstration in Abdeen Palace in order to prevent bloodshed. We changed the location of our demonstration to the University of Cairo. There were no violations, violence or vandalism of any institutions."

Ismail further said, "Are liberation squares exclusively reserved for one faction or camp, or do they belong to all Egyptians? Certainly all liberty squares belong to all Egyptians. Everyone has the right to express his or her opinion".
