Egyptian President Morsi congratulates Christians on New Year 2013 and assures Copts at home and abroad that Egypt is indeed one homeland for all.

President Mohamed Morsi congratulated leaders of Christian communities in Egypt on the occasion of Christmas and the New Year 2013.


In a press statement, the presidency said that Dr. Morsi telephoned Dr.  Safwat Bayadi, President of the Anglican Church; Bishop John Kolta, Deputy Patriarch of Catholic Copts in Egypt; Dr. Rafiq Habib, well-known thinker and writer; Rev. Mounir Hanna Anis, Bishop of the Episcopal Church in Egypt, North Africa and the Horn of African, and congratulated them.

The statement added that the President focused on the unity of Egypt as the homeland of Muslims and Christians alike, and expressed his personal warm congratulations as well as congratulations of all the Egyptian people for their Christian brothers at home and abroad.
