Hussein Ibrahim, Freedom and Justice Party (FJP) Secretary-General, warned of attempts to ignite sectarian strife, "Grossly mistaken are those who believe sectarian sedition can topple the governing regime. Sectarian sedition, if indeed ignited in Egypt, will burn all.

"People should ask themselves: who benefits from the violence in Khossos (in Qaliubiya province) and later outside Cairo’s Coptic cathedral in Abbasiya, and earlier in front of the Supreme Court, Itehadia Presidential Palace, political party headquarters and Al-Qaeed Ibrahim mosque?"

The FJP leader demanded that those who give political cover to acts of violence must face the political and moral consequences thereof, and bear the responsibility accordingly. He further called on the nation’s wise patriotic citizens to unite their efforts and address and resolve crises through a serious and constructive dialogue, rather than try to show off on TV talk shows.
