Dr. Farid Ismail, a member of the Freedom and Justice Party (FJP)’s Executive Bureau, stressed that what is happening in Egypt is simply a conflict between an elected government that is endeavoring to complete the rebuilding of state institutions and between a ‘demolition team’ that is trying desperately to destroy the state and deepen its wounds.

"The state must tread steadily on the path of democratic transformation in order to achieve its vision of development, with complete community and public support that reaffirms progress and success. Egypt is still in transition, and needs concerted efforts by all citizens.

"The current phase is especially difficult. We all must be patient as we go through certain contrived crises that get conjured up along the way, until the building of state institutions is complete and the election of a new House of Representatives safeguards Egypt's revolution."
