Montasser El-Zayat, a cassation lawyer and president of the Moderation Forum, affirmed that the number of detainees under the age of 16 in the military coup’s prisons reached 100, with an additional 40 under the age of 18 years also being held since the brutal military power grab.

In a statement to satellite TV channel "Al-Jazeera Live Egypt", Zayat said that these figures have been observed and documented through the ‘National Committee for the Defense of Prisoners of Conscience’, pointing that the figure could be a lot higher, since this information is based on investigations which are neither complete nor comprehensive.
