The Anti-Coup, Pro-Legitimacy National Alliance wonders what argument or logic can possibly allow coup forces to use live ammunition in response to the flood of peaceful demonstrations sweeping through the streets and cities of all provinces across the nation, especially in Cairo and Giza.

What argument or logic can the putschists have to prevent the citizens of Egypt from peaceful demonstration, while protecting pro-coup groups in other demonstrations? What is the basis for the coup commanders’ discrimination in treatment between the sons and daughters of this one homeland?

Closing roads, blocking entries to public squares and stopping trains and metro lines will never prevent the world from seeing the truth. They will not prevent the voice of coup opponents in Egypt from reaching all parts of the world.

The putschists of Egypt must stop burying their heads in the sand. They must listen to the voice of the people of Egypt, just as they claim to have listened to them before.

The Alliance holds coup authorities and the military-appointed government fully responsible for all the blood of Egyptians being spilt right now, and for every Egyptian killed on this day. The Alliance warns against a repeat of Raba and Nahda massacres of unarmed Egyptians in peaceful protest marches. The Alliance further affirms that it will certainly pursue and prosecute all those involved in these crimes – locally and internationally.

God save the honorable people of Egypt
