Dr. Seif-Eldin Abdel-Fattah, a political science professor at Cairo University, cast doubt on the accuracy of statements made by Dr. Ziad Bahaa-Eldin, Deputy Prime Minister in the coup government, in which he seemed to lay the blame on the Muslim Brotherhood for delays in reconciliation in Egypt.

In a press statement following a meeting on health and legal guarantees for President Mohamed Morsi, Dr. Abdel-Fattah said: "These statements are not true at all.

"I am a witness to what happened. I intervened in some situations personally. The coup government was a party to the obstruction of reconciliation endeavors, while the military council was the other party."
