A Muslim Brotherhood legal source said, "All appeals and legal actions with respect to President Morsi are only related to challenging the competent jurisdiction of the criminal courts, and the President's legal and constitutional view that he should not appear before this court". This came as a comment on the submission by an Egyptian lawyer of an appeal challenging the unjust verdict in the Itehadia Presidential Palace case, in which the court sentenced President Morsi to 20 years in prison. The legal source explained that the defense presented an appeal today (Thursday) against the flawed sentence due to the court's lack of jurisdiction. He affirmed that the defense is still acting upon President Morsi's request not to recognize the court. |
