Another Bloody Thursday in Egypt
Thursday, the 18th of May 2006 will be remembered as important day in the almanacs of the Egyptian contemporary political movement. It is true that the preceding Thursday, 11 May 2006, was a memorable day for Egypt and that security violence toward demonstrators supporting pro-reform judges that day was the main headlines in all mass media, Arab and international alike. But all the criticisms and denunciations of that government violence and the Egyptian regime as a whole did little to protect peaceful demonstrators on Thursday, 18 May, who had to face a more brutal and violent repression and the number of their victims was bigger.
