El-Qalubiya: thuggery dominates run-offs
Today’s run-offs in el-Qalubiya are fraught with thuggery and irregularities.
 
In Tokh, Shbeen el-Kantar, and Kafr Shokr constituencies, riot police enclose the streets leading to polling centers so voters are disable to give votes.
 
Thugs hired by the National Democratic Party clash with the supporters of the Moslem Brotherhood, in front of many polling centers, and under the care of police.
 
In Kafr Shokr electoral district, police allow the supporters of the NDP and al-Tagamoa Party to cast votes while the backers of the Brotherhood are headed off. In addition, all Brotherhood’s members, standing before el-Salam polling station, are arrested. At 9am, thugs toke over the electoral headquarters of the Brotherhood’s nominee; an action that left four injured. They used metal chains, Molotov cocktail, and heavy sticks.
 
In Shbeen el-Kantar City, the voting process was delayed as a result of replacing the electoral registers with others that contain wrong names; in order to hinder the voting. Moreover, some supervisory judges, the presidents of polling stations, did not come in the due time.
 
In polling centers no. 137 and 136, police detain two of the Brotherhood’s backers.
 
In el-Khankha constituency, the representatives of the Brotherhood’s nominee are prevented from entering the polls of Sariaqus village.
