State Security Police forces arrested on Sunday at dawn, June 3, 2007, Mohamed Shaaban Eissa, the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) candidate for constituency of Itay Al Barud, Shabrakhit and Al Rahmania for the Shura council midterm elections .
The MB candidate, arrested from his house in village of Menshiyat Hamada, district of Shabrakhit, appears now in front of the prosecution of the city of Shabrakhit. The prosecution may accuse him of belonging to an outlawed group and of distributing leaflets inciting to hating the regime plus other groundless charges .
This takes place only one day before a Monday final ruling from Alexandria Administrative Court giving the candidate the right to to be included in the list of candidates to run for the elections scheduled this June, 11 th .
A huge number of security forces took part in detaining the Muslim Brotherhood candidate. His house was besieged and the forces were dotted all over the village making residents totally angered by this behaviour from security authorities towards one of the dignitaries in the village .
In a related context, the state security still continues its campaign of removing election posters of the MB candidates in Al-Beheira and arresting any one campaigning for the MB candidate, while the ruling National Democratic party’s candidates are given all freedom and chances to campaign.
