People's Assembly speaker, Dr. Fathi Sorour has agreed to attend a special parliamentary session of the Islamic Inter-Parliamentary Union (IIPU) scheduled to take place May 10, 2010

The agenda will include discussions concerning the serious repercussions of the Israeli Occupation Authorities' decision to build new settlements in East Jerusalem .

 During his phone call with Turkish Parliament Speaker Mehmet Ali Sahin, Sorour suggested adding a clause in the meeting to discuss the annexation of several Palestinian mosques which were added to the list of Jewish heritage. They will also discuss excavations around Jerusalem 's Al-Aqsa Mosque.
