Prosecution investigates death of man beaten by police in Alexandria

The Nassar Centre for Human Rights in Alexandria released a statement condemning the killing of 28 year old Khaled Mohamed Saed Sobhy, who was arrested and allegedly beaten to death by two plain clothed security agents after objecting to police search at an internet cafe. According witnesses, Khaled was dragged into the street to a nearby building where he was allegedly viciously beaten and kicked in the chest and stomach.

  

Eye witnesses reported that the policemen then transported the victim into police vehicle to a local police station, only to come back later and dump his dead body

 

Khaled Saed's family filed a complaint to the General Prosecutor against the Ministry of Interior calling for the investigation of their son's death

 

The victims' family accused security agents and police officers of torturing Saed at the police station after arresting him at an internet cafe. They insisted on their right to bring all perpetrators before the judiciary

 

Ahmed Saed, the victims' brother, asserted that Alexandria 's Prosecution ordered a coroner's investigation to reveal the reasons and circumstances of his death
