The Council of Ministers, headed by Prime Minister Essam Sharaf, has agreed to amend some texts in Article 8 and 9 of law number 40 on political parties today, May 12.
 
The amendments allow founders of parties to announce the names of its founders during registration and to publish the names of its founders in two large newspapers within eight days of announcing the establishment of the party.

The Parties Committee must then be informed of publishing the advert and anyone who objects to the registration of the party must submit the reasons for their objection with evidence to the committee within three days from the date of publishing.
 
The amendments also provided that the party will be accepted one month after the period allowed for objecting has passed. The party can start to hold activities the following day.
