Cairo, Asharq Al-Awsat- Dr. Najih Ibrahim, the Egyptian Al-Jama’ah al-Islamiyah (Egyptian Islamic Group, EIG) chief theorist has stressed that there is a wide disagreement between the Al-Qaeda Organization and the EIG in both the ideology and the methods. He pointed out, "Their aim is jihad, and our aim is Islam." He strongly denied that any leading, or even ordinary member of the EIG had joined the Al-Qaeda.
